Secret Rhythm Society presents a night of jazz, aerial, tap and acrobatics at the historic Folly Theater Thursday, July 9th, 2026 @ 7:30pm. This 18 & up performance is a jazz show set in a speakeasy, with the performance transforming the Folly Theater into an interactive and immersive environment by performance art collective Quixotic. The show runs through July 18th, 2026 on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The show is a unique blend of live jazz, circus, acrobatics and tap dancing in a creative and unique way to present the performance.

Quixotic

By imagining the most creative situations and bringing them to life by combining the most innovative technology with an extremely diverse variety of artists and other resources, the work of Quixotic continues to push the limits of creative expression. By combining the art of dance, projection mapping, live music and circus arts into a modern theatrical performance, Quixotic takes their audience on an incredibly imaginative journey. The specialty performers that make up the collective are extremely physically gifted and extremely talented in a wide variety of physical disciplines. Not only are there extremely talented aerialists, acrobats, circus performers and dancers, but also an extremely diverse group of specialty performers. Live music will accompany the artists to complete the performance. Because the collective also specializes in transforming historical venues into a very unique setting to experience their performance, many of their performances are held in some of the largest venues throughout the Kansas City area. The Folly Theater is one of the venues where they perform on a regular basis. And because of their extremely creative style and their gift for bringing their most imaginative creations to life, the group of specialty performers has earned an incredible reputation. They are known to be one of the most creative performance art groups in the country.

Folly Theater Information

The Folly Theater is an historic late 19th century building originally that was used as a burlesque house. The show space provides excellent acoustics and contains seating on the orchestra level as well as in the balcony. The Folly also contains wheelchair accessible seating in several rows. Recent renovations have provided increased legroom in many of the seats. The Folly Theater has a seating capacity of 1,078. The main entrance to the theater is barrier-free and does not contain any stairs. During performances and intermission, beer and wine as well as non-alcoholic beverages are served in the theater’s bar and concession area. The historic lobby, restrooms, as well as the bar and concessions area have recently undergone renovation. Parking Information

The 12th Street Garage is immediately adjacent to the Folly Theater and is open after 5pm on Friday and Saturday and all day on Sunday and for this special event. The cost to park in the garage is $10 to $20 per vehicle and is paid by credit card only. Additionally, there are parking meters located along the streets surrounding the Folly Theater. These meters are cash payment and are on a first come, first served basis.
